Where the Action is

OK...First things first. This is the new "Official" rain gauge for Mike's Weather World. I will now be able to measure a much more exact amount of rain. I might even join an organization that posts rain, snow, and hail on the Internet. More on that in a future post.

It definitely feels like Fall. Highs have been in the 70s the past few days and this morning we reached 48.4 here in the valley. Tomorrow will be much warmer ahead of a strong cold front. Expect thunderstorms overnight Thursday night....some could be severe. Cooler weather after that. The Fall roller coaster maybe beginning.

As you well know there have been two powerful earthquakes in the past couple of days - one creating a killer tsunami. The big picture above is quite interesting. After watching a special on the History Channel the other night I went to the University of Oregon volcano site and hit this link to the latest on Anak Krakatoa (child of Krakatoa). Check it out for some great pictures.

Storms here due late today or overnight. Due to watch soccer later, so hope that doesn't get rained out.

I've really been enjoying the cooler weather!

Impressive rain gauge! Off to look at the volcano now...
