If only July could be like today

As I said in my last post we had rain Saturday morning...about a third of an inch. We also had a couple of light showers last night, but most of the predicted heavy rain moved west and south of us.
Today has been absolutely superb with low humidity and a high of 86. It was even in the 70s in Northwest Arkansas. Very comfortable sitting on the deck in the shade and drinking lemonade.
Nice today, but I'm sure we will pay for it in the very near future. I can't ever remember a Fourth of July that wasn't steamy and uncomfortable. Time will tell. With the low humidity I'm forecasting a low tonight in the mid 60s.

Rain!

Yes folks ... woke up this morning to storms moving in. Yesterday was hot and more humid with a high of 91 after a low of 70. The forcast today calls for a 50% chance of thunderstorms with a 60% chance tonight. That should keep highs around 80 unless the sun comes out for an extended period of time. I even see some flash flooding in southern MO.

Sibling Weather Forcast:

El Dorado PC 92 20%
Plano PC 99 20%
Fairhope PC 89 50%

OK

High of 89 today. We did have a brief shower and some thunder late last night. Forecast calls for a 50/50 chance of rain Saturday night and Sunday. Could be worse.

My Fascination With Volcanoes

As you know I have always been very interested in volcanoes. It was quite breathtaking to actually gaze into the Kilauea Caldera and down into the Halema'uma'u Crater. In the above picture you can see the large caldera (looks like a giant bauxite pit) with the crater at the bottom. That's the most recent active area of Kilauea. Take a look at the latest webcam looking into Halema'uma'u and compare it to my photo from June of 2006. There are several volcano observatories in this country and the latest conditions on all our our active volcanoes can be found at this link.
Oh ... I forgot to mention that it was up around 90 again today after a low this morning at my house of 68.

Yep ... It's now officially hot!

We made it up to 94 today...but it could have been worse. Humidity is still not that high. Absolutely no rain. As I said earlier, I like to use this space to pass along other interesting sites. The Intellicast site is still the best for a wide area radar picture, although since their last upgrade it takes longer to fully load the page. Check it out.

Hot weather is coming

High today of 89. It was cloudy until early afternoon and we even had a very light shower early this morning. Hot weather is on the way with forcast highs tomorrow in the low to mid 90s. I promise more photos soon.

Boring....But nice

What can I say......again only in the upper 80's after a low of 65. I even walked 6 miles today. If only summer could always be like this. I know we'll pay for it sooner rather then later.

Pleasant Weather

Not bad for the first day of summer. Low humidity and once again temps in the 80's. Doesn't look much like rain for the next few days. Odds are it will get a little more humid and temps will warm into the 90's. Walking was pleasant today as I went 4 miles. I plan 6 miles in the morning.

An Inconvenient Blog

Welcome to my personal weather blog. I can't promise to post everyday, but I will do my best to keep you up to date on weather here at my house. I'll pass along photos and links to other interesting sites. And, I'll do my best to occasionally pass along information on "the convenient lie" known as Global Warming.

At this time I welcome your comments, and will read them once I figure out how.

Enjoy!
Great weather here today considering it is mid-June. Last 2 days have been below 90. Low at my house this morning was 62. Great walking weather. There is a chance a rain tomorrow.
