What's the deal with the weather. March was much colder than normal....April checked out warmer that normal, including one record high....and now May is starting off wet and quite cool. No one around here can remember the last totally sunny weekend. A front splitting the state resulted in heavy rain and severe weather overnight in the northern counties. As the day progressed the rain slid south along with the temperature. We've been in the mid 50's most of the day while southern parts of the state climbed to the low 80s.
The rain has been very heavy at times with some areas north of Little Rock getting 5 to 8 inches of rain. It will be interesting to see if any official reporting stations have received copious amounts. Unfortunately Mike's Weather World Rain Gauge has suffered an irreplaceable malfunction....it's done broke. I haven't had time to find a replacement. The old one was over 10 years old .... that's 95 in rain gauge years.
Let me know how your weather has been.

Whoa! That's one old rain gauge!
I don't have a functioning one, either, thanks to several dogs.
So far we've missed the rain, but we're still forecasted some tonight and tomorrow.
Rain Gauge years?? LOL!!! Is that something along the lines of "Dog years"?
Well...you know the result of our storms here today. One collapsed Cowboy training bubble-thing or whatever.
More storms going through right now outside.
You're right. This has been one crazy weather year! 59 tonight, 69tomorrow.
