Nothing like a little Labor Day excitement

I always like the way Accuweather predicts the strength of the hurricane on their map. Folks in New Orleans are scattering like cockroaches startled in the middle of the night by a bright light. Based on the latest path it looks like Kelly and Pam will get more rain then I will get. It's still a few days off but we will watch it closely.

I'll update again on Sunday when we have a better idea of the path. In the meantime take a look at what channel 11 put together for tracking Gustav.

The Big Easy is getting Uneasy

It's still a little early...but right now this storm is looking pretty good. Maybe another punishing blow to New Orleans. On this course Kelly and I might see some rain, but I'm not sure about Pam.

Take a look at this link showing all the activity brewing. Quite impressive. As you know, I love extreme weather. Keep your fingers crossed for an extreme winter.

College football starts this weekend. It just seems too hot for football. I like to think of football being played on a crisp, cool fall afternoon. That will just have to wait.

Another Tropical System

Just as we rid ourselves of Fay ... here comes another storm that might ultimately head into the Gulf of Mexico.

Fay finally got close enough yesterday to give us a couple of showers in that counter-clockwise tropical rotation. Rainfall was very light. As we dry out for the next several days expect temperatures to rise into at least the mid-90's. I'm still not complaining. Now that football season is upon us we need to start seeing some cooler conditions.

OK Fay ... Whatch ya gona do?

Fay has become a real bitch of tropical storm...dumping lots and lots of rain over all of Florida. Notice the slow track is still headed for us. However, there is a pretty good chance she will veer more to the north and east as we get into next week. She still might give us chance of some additional rain.

Here we had a 2-day total of right at 3.00 thru this morning. Late this afternoon we picked up another quarter inch. No complaints about the relatively cooler weather this month.

Light rain today...about .15 inches. We do have an 80% chance tonight and tomorrow. Right now it looks to be south of Little Rock.

As for Al Gore....where is all that Global Warming. I'll bet this turns out to be one of the coolest Augusts in years. Don't know about you....but I'm lovin' it!

Missed most of the rain

WHat was supposed to be a decent rain event Friday and Saturday turned out to be a bust, Here in the Valley, we only had about a quarter-inch of rain on Friday and nothing this morning. Still, it was cool for mid-August with highs in the 80's.

Hot Weather Returning

The sun finally came out late this afternoon warming us up to 82. We had more rain early today picking up another .40 for a 3-day total of right at 2.00 inches. Back intot he low 90's for a few days and then a 40% chance of more rain this weekend. I'm not complaining.
